Chai Chen worked at Asymptote’s to conceive its first built residential work located in the intimate scale of West Village, New York. The design rehabilitated an existing car parking structure and transformed it into an 8-story luxury apartment building.

The building’s undulating façade with specific reflectance properties reflect and deflect light through out the day creating an ever-changing picture with captures of immediate adjacency including neighboring buildings, sky, trees and street pavement backdropped by clear view of Hudson river.
